Ye heavy laden, come;
Thorny your road, your pathway dreary,
Haste, weary pilgrims, home.

Refrain:
Hear the sweet voice tenderly calling,
Come unto me and rest;
Loving and true the accents are falling,
He that will come is blest.

2 Come unto me, all ye that labor,
Take upon you my yoke;
You will find me a friend and neighbor,
Ready to bear your stroke. [Refrain]

3 Come unto me, alas! poor sinner,
Why dost thou longer roam?
The fatling’s killed, and the full dinner
Now bids thee haste to come. [Refrain]

4 Oh, come, let me carry thy burden,
Thy load of grief remove;
Oh, hasten thee, and cross over Jordan,
Canaan, fair land we love. [Refrain]
