Representative Text

1 Comrades in the army of the Lord,
Sin’s dark host has spread its ranks abroad,
One and all we’ll march against the foe,
And Christ will lead where He bids us go.

Chorus:
Onward, onward, where His standard shines before us,
Onward, onward, with our Lord’s protection o’er us,
Onward, onward, singing in triumphant chorus,
Onward, onward, follow where His banner leads.

2 Comrades, come, unfalt’ring and alert,
By His pow’r the evil we’ll avert,
Not a foe our army can assail,
For Christ is King, and He must prevail. [Chorus]

3 Comrades, join, for no one can we spare,
Each is needed, each must do his share,
All this world for Jesus we must save,
So follow on where His signals wave. [Chorus]
