Confess the Christ

Representative Text

1 Confess the Christ, believing one,
And walk the path He trod;
Behold the laurels He hath won,
Beloved Son of God.
For you He wore the crown of thorn
And drained the cup of woe;
Go bear the cross of earthly scorn
For Him who loved you so.

Refrain:
Confess the Christ, who once was slain,
And hold your colors high;
Confess the Christ who lives again,
And conquer though you die.

2 Proclaim the liberty He gives
To hearts enslaved by sin;
Go tell them your Redeemer lives,
And souls for Jesus win.
The hosts of Satan will be stirred
And tremble at the sight,
AS you unsheathe the living sword,
Or wave the gospel light. [Refrain]

3 The grand reunion will reveal
Your loyalty and love;
And greet you with eternal weal,
In palaces above.
Confess the Christ, victorious one,
And sound His praise abroad;
Go share the laurels He hath won,
Anointed Son of God. [Refrain]
