Did Jesus Die for You and Me?

Representative Text

1 Did Jesus die for you and me,
And did He suffer pain?
Why did He hang upon the tree
And take the sinner's blame?

2 O, yes, He died for all mankind,
Upon the cross of shame,
That sinners, through His love divine
Might plead His gracious name.

3 Worthy the Lamb, who bled and died
To save a world from death,
That justice might be satisfied
And bring man to his rest.

4 Do, Lord, give us the wings of faith
To mount above the sky,
That we may see that holy place
Where souls can never die.
