Representative Text

1 Does the gospel sunshine
Dwell within your soul?
Does its light resplendent
O’er your spirit roll?
Do not keep it hidden,
Others need its ray;
Some abide in darkness,
Longing for the day.

Refrain:
Blessed gospel sunshine!
Warm and pure and bright,
Pointing souls to Jesus
By its holy light;
Do not keep it hidden,
Others need its ray;
Some abide in darkness,
Longing for the day.

2 Put the gospel sunshine
Into lives you know;
Drive away the shadows,
Darkness overthrow;
He who cheers another
By its radiant light
Finds his gloom will vanish,
Sees his path grow bright. [Refrain]

3 Take the gospel sunshine
Where the need is found;
Ev’rywhere it smileth
Hope and joy abound;
Send its rays to others
Who abide in night;
Grief will change to gladness,
Gloom will then take flight. [Refrain]
