Representative Text

1 Down thru the ages some high souls have pleaded
With glowing faith the pray’r our Saviour taught;
But t’ward the dawn we see the earth-mists gather,
And dimmer grown the vision that He brought.

Refrain:
Give us the faith to see the golden morning,
When love and justice have their triumph won,
This be the pray’r our hearts are ever pleading:
Thy kingdom come, Thy will on earth be done

2 Now hope is high, we almost hear the echo,
O’er strife and tumult of the victor’s tread;
Stately and strong, He marches on before us:
To glorious triumph shall His hosts be led. [Refrain]

3 Love points the way, and all who do His bidding,
Forgetting self must strive against the wrong;
And when at last o’er sin and greed victorious,
With Him we’ll raise a glad triumphant song. [Refrain]
