Dum nokt' silenta kantas la ĉiel'

Representative Text

1. Dum nokt' silenta kantas la ĉiel'.
Vekas paŝtistojn vortoj de l' anĝel':
Tuj leviĝu rapideme,
iru rekte Betleĥemon,
Dion vidos vi, Dion vidos vi.

2. Trovis paŝtistoj laŭ anĝela kant'
Lokon naskiĝan de la Di-infan'
kaj adoris Lin bonkore
kiel sian Di-Sinjoron
en la stala trog', en la stala trog'.

3. Kristo, saluton, nia Di-Mesi'!
Milojn da jaroj Vin atendis ni.
Vin profetoj vidi volis,
sed hodiaŭ Vi konsolis
nin per Via ven', nin per Via ven'.

In some hymnals, the editors noted that a hymn's author is unknown to them, and so this artificial "person" entry is used to reflect that fact. Obviously, the hymns attributed to "Author Unknown" "Unknown" or "Anonymous" could have been written by many people over a span of many centuries. Go to person page >
