1 Enhver, som æder dette Brød,
Og drikker Kalken, som han bød,
Han Herrens Død forkynder,
At Jesus Kristus med sit Blod
Paa Korset gjorde fuldkjendt Bod
For alle vore Synder.

2 Saa de, der gaa i Troen did,
Og leve i den all sin Tid,
Og ved til Enden holde,
Guds Børn med Kristus blive maa,
Og Arv i Himmerige faa,
Det kan Guds Naade volde.

3 Thi prøve sig nu paa Guds Ord
Hver Sjæl som gaar til Herrens Bord,
At han sit Hjerte kjender,
Om han og ret i Troen staar,
Og i sand Kjærlighed fremgaar,
Og sig fra Synden vender!

4 At han ei Dom sig æder til,
Om han paa Kristi Legem Skil
Ei gjær, som ret bør være,
Og al den Syndens Surdeig fort
Ved Guds Aands Bistand renser bort,
Kristus, Guds Lam, til Ære.

5 Thi lader os enhver for sig
Gud Lam, til Ære Himmerig
Af ganske Hjerte bede Ved
Jesus Krist hans kjære Søn,
At vi med tro, med Bod og Bøn
Guds Maaltid værdig æde!

6 Den Helligannd os styrke saa,
At i den sande Tro vi staa,
Og hart hos Ordet blive
Med Kjærlighed og hellig Id,

Wexels, Wilhelm Andreas. (Copenhagen, Denmark, March 29, 1797--May 14, 1866, Oslo, Norway). Lutheran. After studies in Copenhagen and Christiana (Oslo), became catechist and curate of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Christiana. Preached against the inroads of rationalism, emphasizing the need for spiritual revival. Church historians claim that his ministry was the turning point in the Church of Norway. Magnus Brostrup Landstad (born 7 October 1802 in Måsøy, Norway and died 8 October 1880 in Kristiania) was a Norwegian minister, psalmist and poet who published the first collection of authentic Norwegian traditional ballads in 1853. This work was criticized for unscientific methods, but today it is commonly accepted that he contributed significantly to the preservation of the traditional ballads. Landstad lived with his father Hans Landstad (1771–1838) who was also a minister, first in 1806 to Øksnes, to Vinje in 1811 and to Seljord in 1819. He took a theological degree (cand. theol) in 1827, and worked after that as the resident chaplain in Gausdal for six years.
