Father, Hear Thy Child

Representative Text

1 Father, hear Thy child
In Thy mercy mild.
Let Thy mighty hand uphold me
And Thy loving arms enfold me
In all toil and strife
Till the end of life.

2 Jesus, hear my prayer,
Shield me ev'ry where;
To Thy mercy I commend me,
Let Thy saving grace attend me,
Since Thy blood alone
Could for me atone.

3 Spirit from above,
Fill my heart with love.
Grant me faith in Christ's salvation,
Planned before the world's creation;
And my hope sustain
Till life's crown I gain.
