God Gave Me Dear America

Representative Text

1 God gave me dear America,
The homeland of the free,
Where little children all may dwell
In peace and liberty.

Chorus:
I pledge my heart, I pledge my hand,
To God and to my native land;
To both of them may I be true,
For that is what I ought to do.

2 No other flag can be more bright,
No other land more fair;
And countless are the gifts she gives
Her children ev'rywhere. [Chorus]

3 God gave me dear America,
And thus will I repay:
Forever will I honor her,
Her laws will I obey. [Chorus]
