Representative Text

1 God helping me, I renounce the world today!
His voice I’ve heard, and I will obey;
I’ll follow Him wheresoever He may lead,
Though the stones may pierce till my feet may bleed.

2 God helping me, I will dare to stand alone,
Though foes assail me, and friends disown;
To have His smile of approval, dearer far
Than the whole world’s praise and its treasures are.

3 God helping me, I’ll accept His will for me,
I’ll live by faith and not ask to see;
I’ll bear the cross He has given me to bear
Till a crown instead He shall give up there.
