Gott verlässt die Seinen nich! [Cross and Consolation.] Included as No. 1254 in the Breslau Gesang-Buch, 1743, in 3 stanzas of 6 lines; repeated in the edition 1746, No. 128; in both cases without name of author. Translated as:—
God doth not leave His own. A full and good translation by Miss Warner in her Hymns of the Church Militant, 1858 (1861, p. 480). Included in the Christian Hymn Book, Cincinnati, 1865, No. 802; in Prust's Supplemental Hymn Book, Lond., 1869, No. 11; and in Dale's English Hymn Book, 1874, No. 597. [Rev. James Mearns, M.A.]
