1 Gud, naar du til Regnskab kalder
Mig for, hvad jeg her har gjort,
Findes, ak, i hver en alder
Livets tilsvar tungt og stort;
Skyld og Gjæld og Synd og Brøde_
Mange, mange tusind Pund_
Ak, hvorledes tør jeg møde
Frem for dig i Regnskabs Stund?

2 For din Naade-Throne falder
Jeg med ydmyg anger ned,
Beder, raaber, og paakalder:
Herre, hav Taalmodighed!
Jesus, kom med dine Summer,
Og betal min Gjæld for mig,
Frels min Sjæl fra evig Kummer,
Bed mig indi Himmerig!
