Does your heart before Him bow?
Have you sought and found His pardon?
If you have not, why not now?

O there is no friend so precious,
None so loving, none so wise;
Every soul athirst for Jesus,
May salvation realize.

2 Do not turn away from Jesus,
Unto whom else can you go?
Tho’ your sins may be as scarlet,
He will wash them white as snow. [Refrain]

3 Do you falter in temptation?
Do you fear lest you should fail?
Trust Almightiness to keep you,

Carrie Ellis Breck was born 22 January 1855 in Vermont and raised in a Christian home. She later moved to Vineland, New Jersy, and then to Portland, Oregon. She wrote verse and prose for religious and household publications, In 1884 she married Frank A. Breck. She has written between fourteen and fifteen hundred hymns.
