Representative Text

1 Have you heard the good news from the country afar,
Where the angels of God and the glorified are?
That a mansion of joy is prepared there for you
If your trust is in Jesus, “the Faithful and True.”

Refrain:
Good news, good news, from the country afar
Where the Lamb that was slain is the Bright Morning Star?
Good news, good news, There’s a mansion for you,
If your trust is in Jesus, “The Faithful and True.”

2 Have you heard the good news from the land where they say
That no shadow of night dims its beautiful day,
Not a sorrow shall darken its portals so fair,
And no sin dare invade, for the King dwelleth there. [Refrain]

3 Have you heard the good news? will you tell it again?
Will you speed on the word to the children of men?
For the Lord who has gone to prepare you a place,
Has a welcome for all, thro’ His wonderful grace. [Refrain]

4 Have you heard the good news from the Savior we love?
Never more is it far to that country above!
For our union with Him brings its glories so near,
That we fancy its grand hallelujahs we hear. [Refrain]
