Representative Text

1 He that dwelleth in the secret of the Lord,
Shall abide in safety, sheltered from all harm;
Tho’ the storms above his soul should be outpoured,
Underneath him is the Saviour’s strong right arm.

Refrain:
He will hide me, safely hide me,
‘Neath the shadow of his wings he will hide me;
He will guide me, safely guide me,
Over life’s rugged way he will guide me.

2 When the enemy shall come in like a flood,
To despoil the blessed Spirit’s work divine,
Then a standard will be lifted, Jesus blood,
That doth cleanse and keep us, Lord, forever thine. [Refrain]

3 O what strength for warfare Christ to us imparts,
As in accents sweet we hear him gently say,
“Do not fear, my child, the tempter’s fiery darts,
For I’m unto thee a refuge all the way.” [Refrain]
