Representative Text

1 Hear the gentle voice of Jesus,
How its tender accents fall!
“I would be thy Guide and Shepherd,
Find in me thine all in all.”

Refrain:
Lord of life, Thy condescension
Fills my grateful heart with praise!
I would joyfully receive Thee,
Love Thee, serve Thee, all my days!

2 “Hast thou faith, O my beloved?
All is thine if thou believe!
Unto death O be thou faithful,
And a crown of life receive.” [Refrain]

3 Hearest thou the Master calling,
“Wherefore idle all the day?
In my vineyard gladly labor,
What is right I will repay.” [Refrain]

4 Be not like the barren fig-tree,
Be a branch of living vine;
Soon will come the heav’nly harvest,
When forever thou shalt shine. [Refrain]
