Representative Text

1 Hear the trumpet call that’s sounding
To the loyal hosts today,
Far and wide its tones resounding,
And it bids us march away;
For the foe, in proud defiance,
Hath his standard dark unfurled,
But in God is our reliance,
And He bids us save the world.

Refrain:
Hear the trumpet call,
Forward march, ye conq’ring legions,
Forward, one and all!
In the cause of truth and right.
Strike the pow’rs of wrong,
Lighten up the darkened regions,
And with joy and song,
Forward march in Jehovah’s might.

2 Courage, then, my comrade brother,
Keep the step in brave accord,
In the world there is no other
Like the service of the Lord;
Never field so bright in glory
As the battle ground with sin;
Never deed so great in story
As the vict’ry we shall win. [Refrain]
