Hold My Hand, Dear Savior

Representative Text

1. Hold my hand, dear Savior,
All the pilgrim way,
For to Thee, the darkness
Shineth as the day;
When the clouds above me
Hide the sunny blue,
Let Thy light, pure and unfailing,
Brighten to my view.

CHORUS
Hark! I hear a precious promise,
Like a burst of music grand!
“Fear thee not: I have redeemed thee,
I will hold thee by the hand.”

2. Hold my hand, dear Savior,
Foes my path surround;
In the hour of trial,
Make Thy grace abound;
While the battle rages,
Be my strength and shield;
Be Thy tender love more clearly
To my heart revealed. [CHORUS]

3. Hold my hand, dear Savior,
Keep me by Thy side;
In the steps of duty,
Be my gentle Guide;
Help me in Thy service,
Winning souls for Thee,
Till in heaven’s fadeless glory,
I Thy face shall see. [CHORUS]
