Representative Text

1 I came to my Lord with my burden of care,
And fell at His feet, ‘twas too heavy to bear.
He whispered to me as I cried to Him there,
“Remember how much I love you.”

Refrain:
The way may be rough,
But this is enough,
Remember how much I love you.

2 “You surely forget all the burden of woe
I bore for your sake on the cross long ago.
In future, when ever the better tears flow,
Remember how much I love you.” [Refrain]

3 The moment I heard the sweet words which He said,
My unbelief vanished, my terrors all fled.
On this blest assurance I pillow my head,
“Remember how much I love you.” [Refrain]

4 The words of my Lord turned the storm into calm,
The thought of His love soothed my heartache like balm.
I know that the future can bring me no harm,
“Remember how much I love you.” [Refrain]

5 And so when the sorrows of others I feel,
I can to my Saviour’s compassion appeal.
That He may to them this great secret reveal,
“Remember how much I love you.” [Refrain]
