Stars of the heavens

1 I found in God’s volume a promise divine,
Which, had I loved Jesus, I might have called mine;
Just as the bright stars show in heaven so fair,
Shall they that be wise shine, was what I found there.

I longed for the promise I found in his word;
With sins unforgiven, Heav’n could not be mine,

3 I called on my Savior to pardon my sin,
He entered my life then, and since reigns within;
I’ll taste of the wisdom that comes from above,
Win others to Jesus for pardon and love. [Refrain]

4 Oh, some day in heaven I also shall wear
A crown of rejoicing, Christ’s kingdom shall share;
As bright as the stars are, forever and aye,
I’ll shine with a glory that fades not away. [Refrain]
