Representative Text

1 I have a hope—a glorious hope—
An anchor it proves to be:—
Yes hope in the blood so freely shed
On the cross of Calvary!

Refrain:
I have a hope, a glorious hope,
‘Tis an anchor sure to my soul!
It holds me fast to the “Rock of Ages”
While the stormy billows roll.

2 I have a hope—a glorious hope—
It cheers me day by day;
And sends forth a gleam of golden light
All along my pilgrim way. [Refrain]

3 I have a hope—a glorious hope—
‘Tis fixed in the word of God;
A hope that is giv’n to every one
Who the heav’nly pathway trod. [Refrain]

4 I have a hope—a glorious hope—
So steadfast it ne’er can fail!
‘Tis founded upon eternal truth
And it reaches within the veil. [Refrain]
