The Call of the Galilean

1 I hear the Galilean gently calling,
His voice is sounding sweet and clear;
How tenderly His accents now are falling,
He bids me unto Him draw near
He calls as once of yore,
Beside the sunlit shore.

Refrain:
He calls me, O yes He calls me to His service sweet,
He calls me to His perfect peace, His joy complete;
He’ll keep me, forever keep me, and I cannot fall,
I’ll own His sway, His voice obey, and heed His call.

2 I hear the Galilean gently pleading,
Can I resist His gracious word?
Can I remain aloof, and all unheeding
The sweetest message ever heard? [Refrain]

3 I hear the Galilean gently saying,
Come unto me and find thy rest;
Then let me seek His side no more delaying,
And heed the heav’nly call so blest. [Refrain]
