Longing after Christ

I long to march the heavenly road

Alterer: Anna Beeman
Published in 1 hymnal

Representative Text

1 I long to march the heavenly road,
Converse on holy things;
Yea, tread the temple of my God,
and see the king of kings.

2 There Jesus' gospel sweetly sounds,
O how the glory rings;
The chief of sinners heal their wounds,
And see the king of kings.

3 There Jesus takes them for his brides,
Adorns their hands with rings;
And they walk sweetly by his side,
And see the king of kings.

4 They sweetly lean upon his breast,
And hear of heavenly things;
O here they find a blessed rest,
And see the king of kings.

5 Their minds survey the worlds above,
Think how the Angels sing;
They sweetly taste of Jesus love,
And see the king of kings.

6 Come all that view that heavenly shore,
And seraphs that have wings,
Exalt his praises more and more,
And see the king of kings.

7 Come sinners let it be your aim,
To search for heavenly things;
Come put your trust in Jesus hame,
And see the king of kings.
