At Jesus' Feet

Representative Text

1 I love to sit at Jesus’ feet
In penitential pray’r,
To know the bliss of pardon sweet
He freely gives me there;
And there I love to plead my case,
His tender love entreat,
And feel his soul-refreshing grace
Flow o’er me at his feet.

Refrain:
Pardon sweet at his feet ever free,
Precious blood like a flood flows to me;
Come ye weary while you may,
Come, O come, his love obey,
He will wash your sins away.

2 I love to sit, in sorrow’s hour,
Within that blest retreat,
And prove the gracious healing pow’r
Of cleansing at his feet;
And there I gain the strength to dare,
And all my foes defeat,
The grace each cruel wrong to bear,
He gives me at his feet. [Refrain]

3 I love to breathe his holy name
Where kindred spirits meet,
I love in trusting faith to claim,
A blessing at his feet;
And when my Father’s home I see,
And all my dear ones greet,
No place will be so dear to me,
As sitting at his feet. [Refrain]
