Representative Text

1 I was wand’ring when the Saviour found me,
Threw His arms of tender love around me;
Now I’ll sing though Satan’s hosts surround me,
Christ for me and victory.

Refrain:
Christ for me, O herald wide the story!
Praise His name, He gives me grace and glory;
O’er and o’er I’ll tell the wondrous story,
Christ for me and victory.

2 When the daily cares of life oppress me,
And the gilded snares of sin distress me;
This my cry, though Satan would possess me,
Christ for me and victory. [Refrain]

3 Forward then with banners bravely flying,
All the hosts of sin and wrong defying;
On the mighty arm of God relying,
Christ for me and victory. [Refrain]
