1 إليك يا رب صرخت فاستمعْ
لي مستجيباً عندما أدعو إليكْ
وصلواتي كبخورٍ عاطرٍ
فتستقم مرفعةً مني لديكْ

2 وهكذا رَفعُ يديّ فليكنْ
تقدمةً مثل ذبيحةِ المسا
فكن لِبابِ شفتيّ حافظاً
تصونُه ولفمي اجعل مَحرسا

3 ولا تُمل قلبي إلى أمرٍ ردي
فلا أجاري المجرمين الأثمه
أعاف طيبَ زادهم والبارُ إن
ضربني حسبت ذاك مرحمه

4 يا ربِّ عينايَ إليك لائذاً
مستتراً بسترك المظلِّلِ
كن حافظاً نفسي من الفخ الذي
أعداؤنا قد نصبوه اليومَ لي

Nasif al-Yaziji (March 25, 1800 – February 8, 1871) was a Lebanese author at the times of the Ottoman Empire and father of Ibrahim al-Yaziji. He was one of the leading figures in the Nahda movement.
