Representative Text

1 In days of youth so bright and fair,
Ere time hath left its trace of care,
Or sin its deadly work hath wrought,
Then lead me to the Rock.

Refrain:
Lead me, lead me,
This shall be my cry,
Lead me, lead me,
To the Rock that is higher than I.

2 When earthly pleasures charm me not,
And grief and sorrow are my lot,
May faith and hope the gloom dispel
And lead me to the Rock. [Refrain]

3 And when at last life’s work is o’er,
And I draw near the golden shore,
The, as through life, my pray’r shall be,
O lead me to the Rock. [Refrain]
