Representative Text

1 In the army of the King of kings
There’s a call for soldiers brave and true,
Heralds of the gospel light,
At the battle’s front to fight;
For this service can the Captain count on you?
For this service can the Captain count on you?

Refrain:
Can the Lord depend on you?
Can the Lord depend on you?
Ev’ry ransomed pow’r engaging,
To your trust be true;
Can the Lord depend on you?
Can the Lord depend on you?
In the mighty conflict raging,
Can the Lord depend on you?

2 In the service of the King of kings,
Who will at the Master’s bidding haste?
There is work that must be done
Ere this world for Christ is won;
For the want of reapers golden harvests waste,
For the want of reapers golden harvests waste. [Refrain]

3 Loyal ever to the King of kings,
On His business ev’ry day intent,
Numbered with the faithful few
His ambassadors are you,
Crying out to sinners ev’rywhere, “Repent!”
Crying out to sinners ev’rywhere, “Repent!” [Refrain]

4 At the bidding of the King of kings,
We’ll assemble in the bye and bye,
With the over-comers there
Will you meet Him in the air,
With the ransomed reign in glory up on high?
With the ransomed reign in glory up on high? [Refrain]
