Representative Text

1 In the Bible it is written there is cleansing in the blood,
Do not stagger at the promise of the word,
With a faith that never falters plunge beneath the crimson flood,
Do not stagger at the promise of the Lord.

Chorus:
Do not stagger at the promise of the Savior,
Do not stagger at the promise of the word,
Would you now be cleansed from sin,
To your heart let Jesus in,
Do not stagger at the promise of the Lord.

2 Have you read the precious promises of pardon and of peace?
Do not stagger at the promise of the word,
Have you heard that Christ can cancel sin and bring the heart release?
Do not stagger at the promise of the Lord. [Chorus]

3 O the riches of His mercy, O the fulness of His love,
Do not stagger at the promise of the word,
Ev’ry promise that is given faithful to the heart will prove,
Do not stagger at the promise of the Lord. [Chorus]
