Representative Text

1 In Thy footsteps, blessed Master,
Help me follow, day by day;—
Halting never, watching ever,
Walking in the narrow way.

Refrain:
In Thy footsteps, blessed Master,
Help me follow, day by day;
Trusting ever, doubting never,
Walking in the narrow way.

2 When the joys of life enfold me,
Help me fix my thoughts on Thee,
Draw me nearer, whisper clearer,
Till Thy blessed face I see. [Refrain]

3 Should soft dreams of sinful pleasure,
Tempt me from the narrow way,
Keep, oh, keep me! warn and shield me,
Let me not in bypaths stray. [Refrain]

4 Should temptation dark surround me,
Help me hold my steadfast way;
Trusting ever, doubting never,
Till I reach the realms of day. [Refrain]
