Representative Text

1 Jesus is the children’s friend,
Precious friend, tender friend;
Loves with love that knows no end;
What a precious friend!

Refrain:
We will love and serve Him still,
And His kind commands fulfil;
Try to do His holy will;—
Precious, precious friend!

2 When we pray, the Lord is near,
Very near, very near.
And will our petitions hear;
What a precious friend! [Refrain]

3 He will make us good and pure,
Good and pure, good and pure,
If we in His love endure;
What a precious friend! [Refrain]
