Hymnary Friends,

Please pardon this brief interruption, and please consider a gift today to support the work of Hymnary.org. Here's why.

Each month half a million people visit this website for free access to the most complete database of North American hymnody on the planet. But this project does not come without a cost, and we have limited sources of revenue. Twice a year we hold a fund drive, and these drives are critical to our future.

So if you benefit from Hymnary.org, would you consider a donation today? Even small amounts help, and they also let us know you're behind us and support what we do.

Click the Donate button below to be taken to a secure giving site. Or you can make your tax-deductible contribution by sending a check to Hymnary.org at 3201 Burton SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.

On behalf of the entire Hymnary.org team, our thanks.

Representative Text

1 Jesus Krist, du dig forbarme
Se dit Folkes svare Nød,
slip dog ei de Jøder arme,
Du jo og for dem er død.
drag dem, drag dem til dig ind,
Bøi du det forvendte Sind,
Bryd det stolte, haarde Hjerte,
Før dem ind i Angers Smerte.

2 Lad det blod, som de udøste,
Da de dig korfæste lod,
Lad det Blod, som os forløste,
Blive dem en Livsens Flod.
Selv du jo paa Korset bad:
"Fader, Fader! dem forlad;
Thi de ved ei hvad de gjøre,"
Hjælp dem dog dit Ord at høre.

3 Israel end fredløs vanker,
Hjemløs overalt paa Jord,
Men du har dog Fredens Tanker;
Sikkert er dit Løftes Ord.
Hord og Himmel falde maa,
Men dit Ord skal evig staa;
Israel skal sig omvende
Til sinGud ved Tidens Ende.

4 Tak, vor Hyrde, som vil samle
Til din Hjord de spredte Faar,
Hedning, Jøde, Unge, Gamle,
De, som vild i Ørken gaar.
Hednings Fylde samle du
Rundt omkring paa Jord endnu,
Snart skal og de Jøder mange
Prise dig med "Zions Sange".
