Representative Text

1 Jesus sweetly bids us be of cheer,
On the homeward way;
His sweet mercies to our hearts appear,
On the homeward way.

Refrain:
Home! home! ‘tis a word of cheer,
We are nearer ev’ry day;
Home! home! word of promise dear,
On the homeward way.

2 Helping others let us pass along
On the homeward way;
Praising Jesus with a happy song
On the homeward way. [Refrain]

3 Troubles touch us, but there’s grace for all
On the homeward way;
Comforts, like the gentle dew-drops, fall
On the homeward way. [Refrain]
