1 Jesus, Thine unbounded love
Fills my soul with awe and wonder,
For Thou camest from above,
Bursting Satan's chains asunder
That from bondage I might be
Ever free.
2 By Thy holy, precious blood
Thou hast wrought my soul's salvation,
Sealing thus my peace with God,
Sparing me sin's condemnation;
In Thy sacred wounds I hide
Justified.
3 May Thy boundless love for me,
With its anguish, grief and labor,
Fill my heart with love for Thee
And compassion for my neighbor.
May I love to brethren show
Here below.
4 Let me love in deed and truth,
Tho' the world revile and hate me;
For its wickedness uncouth
Fairest joys beyond await me.
There shall I, redeemed by grace,
See Thy face.
