Representative Text

1 Let the watchmen guarding Zion,
Slumber not for foes are near;
Let the trumpet with its clearest note
Call to courage, not to fear.

Refrain:
Proclaim to the world the Word of God;
No line of it all from men withhold;
Yes, proclaim to men all the Word of God,
With a loving heart and bold.

2 Tell abroad of God’s great mercy,
As recorded in his Word;
Set the gates of Zion wide for all
Who surrender to the Lord. [Refrain]

3 Plead with men upon the highways,
Draw them by the cords of love;
And compel them to the Gospel feast
Spread in Zion’s courts above. [Refrain]
