Representative Text

1 Lift high your cheerful voices,
In carols strong and clear!
Each heart today rejoices,
For Bethl’hem day is here!
The birthday of the heav’nly King,
Let every loyal foll’wer sing,
Till everywhere the praise shall ring,
Of Christ our Lord!

2 Sound forth th’eternal glory,
That angels sang of old;
Be grateful for the story,
The faithful shepherds told:
The story of the newborn King!
The story that today we sing!
Till everywhere the tidings ring,
That Christ is born!
