Lift up your eyes, ye Christians

Representative Text

1 Lift up your eyes, ye Christians,
Behold the worldwide field
Now ready for the harvest,
Go make its precious yield.
Arise, go forth to gather
The fruit without delay!
The ripened fields are waiting;
This is your harvest day.

2 Lift up your eyes, ye Christians,
The whole wide world to view:
How plenteous the harvest,
The laborers how few!
How can you then be idle
And linger by the way?
Arise and join the reapers!
This is your harvest day.

3 Lift up your eyes, ye Christians,
And heed the Lord's command;
Go, labor in His vineyard,
And lend a helping hand!
Like sheep without a shepherd
So many go astray,
Neglected they must perish;
This is your harvest day.

4 Lift up your eyes, ye Christians,
The harvest day is brief;
O hear the cry of millions
For rescue and relief!
Let sacrifice and service
Your life on earth portray;
Help win the world for Jesus;
This is your harvest day!

5 Lift up your eyes, ye Christians,
Soon comes the gracious Lord;
He comes to claim the faithful
And give them His reward.
Be faithful in your service
And labor as you pray;
For lo, the night is coming;
This is your harvest day!

Amen.
