Representative Text

1 Like sweet music softly breaking
On the troubled dreamer’s sleep,
Comes the promise down from heaven
God will all His children keep.

Refrain:
“Perfect peace, perfect peace,
God will give His children peace.”

2 Far above the din and striving
Of life’s wide and restless sea,
Through the singing and the sobbing
Comes this message sweet to me. [Refrain]

3 All my doubts and questions stilling,
All the fears that press the soul,
Telling of a love unchanging
Does this echo ever roll. [Refrain]

4 When the day has reached its twilight,
And my bark its haven nears,
Still the promise lives unbroken
In the glad eternal years. [Refrain]
