Representative Text

1 Louder and nearer the battle is raging,
Fierce is the conflict that now meets our view;
Jesus, the Captain of our great salvation,
He is now calling for soldiers true.

Refrain:
Go, go, go! ‘tis our Captain’s command,
Fight, fight, fight! with heart and hand;
Haste, haste, haste! for he calls now for you;
Always and ever to him be true.

2 Bearing the banner of Jesus victorious,
Christ, and his church, shall our cry ever be;
Strongest of foes by his might we shall conquer,
He ever leads us to victory. [Refrain]

3 When the last battle is fought for his kingdom,
Songs of the victor we joyfully sing;
We shall return from the conflict triumphant,
Honored and crowned by our Savior king. [Refrain]
