Representative Text

1 Marching on, an army strong and grand,
Marching on to Canaan’s happy land.
By Jehovah we are led along,
Safely to the land of joy and song;
Happy, free as birds upon the wing,
Marching homeward with a mighty King.

Refrain:
On, joyously on;
We are marching on, an army strong and grand.
On, joyously on;
We are marching on to Canaan’s happy land.

2 Marching on through sunny days of youth,
Loyal ever to the gospel truth;
Tempted often as we onward go,
Never yielding to the wily foe.
With our banner flashing ‘gainst the sky,
Marching to the promised land on high. [Refrain]

3 Marching on through dust and burning heat;
Marching often, too, with weary feet;
Strife and trials may beset our way,
We keep boldly marching day by day.
Cheerfully the trials we will bear,
For we know that vict’ry waits us there. [Refrain]
