1 Min Sjæl for Herren kvæder,
Min Aand i Gud sig glæder,
I Gud, min Frelsermand,
Thi han har havt i Minde
Sin ringe Tjenerinde
I hendes stille Sørgestand.

2 Herefter skal mig alle
Den Lykkelige kalde,
Min Sorg er svunden bort,
For store Ting i Naade
Han gjorde mig til Vaade,
Som mægtig er, hvis Navn er stort.

3 Hans Miskund evig bliver
Mod dem, sin Tro ham giver,
Fra Slægt til Slægt hans Pagt;
Dem, som i Hjertets Tanker
Paa Hovmods Høide vanker,
Han adspredt har med vældig Magt.

4 Gud haver ladet merke,
Han støder ned de Stærke,
Men sætter Svage høit;
De Hungrige han haver
Opfyldt med gode Gaver,
Og gjort dem glad og vel fornøid.

5 Men de, sig tykkes rige,
Tomhændet maatte vige;
Sin Tjener Israel,
Som paa det Ord har vovet,
Som Abraham var lovet,
Han hjalp og gjorde evig sæl!

6 Gud hid sit Øie vende,
Og os sin Hilsen sende
Med Naade, Liv og Fred!
Gud give os at gange
Med glade Takkesange
For ham i Tid og Evighed!
