Representative Text

1 Never despond, have hope and cheer,
Although thy lot be dark and drear;
Tho’ earth may frown and fortune hide,
God and thy Savior still abide.

Refrain:
Hope is the rainbow on the cloud,
The pledge of seed and harvest time;
An anchor holding in the veil,
The promise of a brighter clime.

2 There is a pledge of God’s own hand,
To guide thee thro’ this desert land;
It gives thee hope along the way
That leads thee to the realms of day. [Refrain]

3 Courage infused within the heart
Will help each one fulfill his part;
Let Christian love fill every soul,
And cheer the pathway to its goal. [Refrain]
