Steady, Steady, Loyal Soldiers

Representative Text

1 Never will the Master leave us,
Never will his promise fail;
Only let us press the closer
When the pow'rs of sin assail.

Chorus:
Steady, steady, loyal soldiers,
Take your orders day by day;
True and faithful, follow Jesus,
Follow all the way.

2 In our mighty Christian army
There's a part for us to do;
Hold aloft the gospel banner,
Cheerfully the pledge renew. [Chorus]

3 When we wholly trust in Jesus,
When our hearts in love outflow,
We will learn the happy secret
Of a blessed life below. [Chorus]

4 Let us render willing service,
Gladly answer, "here am I;"
We are marching on to glory,
Singing of our home on high. [Chorus]
