Dear Friend of Hymnary,

As you know, we don't ask for money too often. But we're asking now.

So before you hit the "close" button on this box, please consider a donation to keep Hymnary going.

More than half a million people come here every month -- worship leaders, hymnologists, hymn lovers and more -- people who now have access to the most complete database of North American hymnody on the planet thanks to this site. But keeping all of this afloat does not come without a cost, and we have limited sources of revenue. So if you benefit from Hymnary.org, would you please consider a donation today? Even small amounts help, and they also let us know you're behind us and support what we do.

You can make your tax-deductible contribution by clicking the Donate button below, or you can send a check to Hymnary at 3201 Burton SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.

On behalf of the entire Hymnary team,
Harry Plantinga

Full Text

1. Now I know what makes me happy,
As I know what made me sad;
Christ has all my sins forgiven,
And His Spirit makes me glad!
Happy, always happy,
Joy in health and joy in pain!
Live your daily life with Jesus,
And your joy will e’er remain.

2. Now I know what makes me happy;
Not my comfort or my ease,
For I simply walk with Jesus,
Choose my blessèd Lord to please.
Happy, always happy,
Joy in losses, joy in gain!
Joy in God’s most precious promise,
And your joy will e’er remain.

3. Now I know what makes me happy,
For He fills me with delight
By His uttermost salvation,
And His strength to do the right.
Happy, always happy,
Joy in darkness just the same,
As you walk out on His promise,
Blessèd joy will e’er remain.

4. Now I know what makes me happy;
His own presence in my breast,
As with joy I do His bidding,
And with Jesus leave the rest.
Happy, always happy,
Earthly loss is heav’nly gain;
Joy in His delightful labor,
Joy in His eternal reign.
