Representative Text

1 O child of God, “why weepest thou?”
The Lord’s not dead, but risen;
The mighty stone is rolled away
From death’s cold gloomy prison.

Refrain:
Away with fear!
Away with doubt!
Go, sound the tidings all about!
Death and the grave are put to out;
We have a living Saviour.

2 In clouds transplendent with the light,
Angelic hosts attended,
Triumphant over all His foes,
The Lord our God, ascended. [Refrain]

3 List, how He calls thee by thy name!
Behold the empty prison!
Run! take the tidings to all men—
The Lord, the Lord “is risen.” [Refrain]
