When we get home

Representative Text

1 Oh, friend, as journ'ing onward,
To gain the better land;
We go with many a longing,
Dear lov'd ones, hand in hand;
Oh! think of all the rapture,
That thro' heaven's sunlit dome,
Shall ring in songs of welcome,
When we, when we get home.

chorus:
Home, blessed home so fair,
Sweet is the rest that waits us there;
Home, home,
Beautiful, blessed home

2 There at the pearly portals,
Those who have gone before,
Shall come to bid us welcome
To heav'n's delightful shore;
And we shall enter with them,
No more 'mid doubts to roam;
For they'll be true who love us,
When we, when we get home. [Chorus]

3 Oh, hearts of those who sorrow,
Be strong and brave to do;
Joy cometh on the morrow,
Peace waits at last for you;
Not long shall cares beset us,
The happy time will come;
So friends be brave and patient,
We'll soon, we'll soon be home. [Chorus]
