Representative Text

1 O God, who saidst, "Let there be light,"
We lift our hearts and hands to Thee:
Shine in our lives with glory bright,
And scatter far the shades of night,
Thy Word our beacon be.

2 O Christ, who camest as our Light,
God's glory beaming from Thy face,
We pray Thee, raise us to the height
Where Thee we see, O precious sight,
The Lord of truth and grace.

3 O Holy Spirit, shed Thy light
Upon the Word, that we may know
Its saving sentences aright,
And learn to conquer by its might;
Set all our hearts aglow.

Amen.
