Representative Text

1 Oh, how happy I have been
Since I turned away from sin,
Since I gave my heart to Jesus;
Like a joyful bird on wing,
I am happy, I must sing,
Since I gave my heart to Jesus.

Chorus:
Since I gave my heart to Jesus
I am happy all the day;
I am singing, yes, I’m always singing,
Since I gave my heart to Jesus.

2 Christ is with me day by day,
Giving comfort all the way,
Since I gave my heart to Jesus;
He has met my ev’ry need,
Been my faithful friend indeed,
Since I gave my heart to Jesus. [Chorus]

3 How I love the house of pray’r,
And the friends who gather there,
Since I gave my heart to Jesus;
Precious is the sacred word,
And my soul to faith is stirred,
Since I gave my heart to Jesus. [Chorus]

4 All my grief has flown away,
Blessed peace is mine today,
Since I gave my heart to Jesus;
Love and joy to me belong,
All my days are filled with song,
Since I gave my heart to Jesus. [Chorus]
