Representative Text

1 O King of love, King of love, be Thou our star today,
Guide Thou our steps, guide our steps o’er life’s uncertain way,
Though clouds arise, Thy light unfold
Till safe we stand beyond the gates, the gates of gold.

Refrain:
O King of love, King of love our everlasting light,
Guide Thou our steps, guide our steps
Till ended is the night
And we stand safe at last beyond gates of gold.

2 O King of love, King of love, defend us by Thy pow’r!
Teach us Thy will, teach Thy will, through ev’ry passing hour.
Hear Thou our cry, each burden bear
Our sins forgive we pray, our griefs and sorrows share. [Refrain]

3 O King of love, King of love, as children we would plead,
Look Thou from heav’n, look from heav’n, behold our ev’ry need.
Though clouds arise, Thy light unfold
Till safe we stand beyond the gates, the gates of gold. [Refrain]
